Search Engine Optimization
Last Updated: Monday, January 21, 2013
Simply put, search engine optimization is the process by which a website is given its best possible chance
to be found and displayed on Page One of organic results by
the major search engines (Google, Yahoo!, and Bing).
Because none of the three aforementioned companies has ever entirely revealed every component of the algorithms they use to locate and return websites, the process of search engine optimization is part science and part art.
There literally are dozens of factors that make up the relevance of a website for a particular keyword or search phrase.
Some of the factors, such as scope of content, audience size, title tags, and quality of inbound links, are well-known. Other factors on which G.O.A.L. Web Design, LLC, places heavy emphasis have been learned over years of real-world practice and experience.
We consider many of those secondary and tertiary factors proprietary and do not disseminate them to the public.
By now, we have become expert in search engine optimization, and highly recommend utlizing the service for your website.
The process typically requires three (3) days to complete at the outset; but we encourage all clients to lay out and stick to a game-plan that entails adding new articles and blogs on a continual basis, as that will serve to improve page rank.
As technology improves, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to game or deceive the major search engines with regard to improving the visibility of your website. That means the content you upload must be relevant and highly specific to your industry. It must be thoughtfully and cleverly written.
SEO is nearly as critical to the success of any business in the 21st century as websites themselves.
After all, what good is a website if no one sees it?
