Olivia Schlapfer Colmer, Ph.D., LMFT / Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Clinical Private Practice

Olivia is a Ph.D. Marriage and Family Therapist who works in private practice. In 2015, Olivia founded her private practice Morningside Therapy. She actively sees individuals, couples, and families applying Bowen Family Systems Theory. Olivia has been a student of Bowen theory for over 10 years, and continues to learn and grow by attending seminars and trainings.

Olivia has a masters and doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. During her doctoral studies she worked extensively in the school system, providing therapy to adolescents and their families.

As an avid horseback rider during her own adolescence, she became involved in equine assisted therapy. Along with a professor at Nova Southeastern University, they trained in the EAGALA model of equine therapy and developed a unique program combining family therapy with equine therapy. Olivia was an integral part of developing and launching the non-profit organization Stable Place, which provides equine assisted family therapy to individuals, couples, and families in Davie, Florida. Olivia also taught the equine family therapy class that was created in partnership with Nova Southeastern University and Stable Place.

Olivia is Swiss-American and was raised in a bilingual home, with fluency in Swiss German, German, Spanish and English.
