Thomas G. Beley, PhD, LCSW

Private Practice, Psychotherapy & Consultation

Tom is currently in private practice providing psychotherapy and consultation services using a systems theory approach to individuals, families, and organizations.

He has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of mental health and addictions where he has excelled both as an expert clinician and an organizational leader. His area of expertise has focused on the systemic relationship between neurobiology, behavior, and the relationship system in promoting wellness and productivity. He has also been responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of innovative treatment programs in the areas of mental health and substance use disorders focusing on maintaining wellness and productivity. He has been an adjunct professor at a number of universities and has conducted a number of workshops on systems thinking and theory in maximizing one's potential. He is the author of the book Beyond Addiction: Making Recovery More Effective.

Tom received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany, his MSW at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and his PhD from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. He also has extensive post-graduate training in systems theory and psychotherapy from the Georgetown Family Center in Washington, D.C., currently known as the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family.
